Add on

Additional quantities for product items can be added to an existing Subscription by using the Add On feature. 

The additional quantity can be the same Term or shorter than the subscription term. Start date can be entered but End date is fixed.  

Create an Add On Opportunity

  1. Open a Subscription record.
  2. Click Add On.
  3. A new Opportunity record opens, with defaults:
    Type = Add On
    Sales stage = Negotiation
  4. On Subscription section, set a new Term (if needed) by changing the Start date and the Term is automatically calculated. 
  5. On the Line Items section, enter additional Quantity on appropriate line item.
  6. Save Opportunity.

Updating Subscription

  1. Open an Add On opportunity.
  2. On the Sales stage field, select "Closed-Won"
  3. A prompt displays that a "Subscription record will be updated."  Click OK.
  4. Open the Won opportunity record.
  5. On the Other Settings tab, go to Subscription section and click the subscription record.
  6. Validate details. 
    Term, start date and end date displays as original Subscription.
    On the Line Items section,  Quantity is added to the original quantity of the appropriate line item, Discount applied, and tax if applied.
    Subtotals and Totals computation is also updated.
    Subscription value field on the header is calculated as the Quantity * Unit Price * Fullterm value - Discounts.
