Converting Leads to Contacts
On conversion, iEnterprise CRM will check for the existence of the same account name and will allow this Lead to be associated. Otherwise, an Account record and a Contacts record are created.
If the account already exists, the created Contact and all associated records follow the privileges already set on the original account record, otherwise the created Contact and all associated records should follow the privileges set on the original Lead record.
Follow the steps below to Convert a Lead record.
How to Convert a Lead
1. Select Leads from the Object Navbar.
2. Open the specific Lead record.
3. Click Convert from the Action bar.
4. If there is an existing Account with the same name, a prompt box asking whether to associate or not appears.
a. Click Convert button to confirm,
A new contact record will be created and it will be associated to the existing account record.
All other records that were associated with the original Lead record will be associated as well.
b. Otherwise, click No and conversion cancels.
iEnterprise CRM does not allow duplicate Account name at this time
5. If there is NO existing Account with the same name, convert process executes.
A new Account record will be created and all account-related information (e.g. sales potential, number of employee) will be inherited from the lead record.
A new Contact record will be created and all contact-related information (e.g. job title, department) will be inherited from the lead record.
All other records that were associated with the original Lead record will be associated as well.
6. Lead record is removed from list.
