Configure MySQL users for admin console
The File Password and Key Password must be obtained from iEnterprises before attempting to change MySQL acces
Some functions of iEnterprise Mobile are restricted to those who have MySQL read and write privileges. It allows the system administrator to restrict which users have access to:
- Utility -> Show Db menu, which allows users to:
- Perform MySQL show queries
- MySQL Read privileges are required to access the Show DB menu
- Perform MySQL show queries
- Utility -> Configuration Tools menu, which allows users to:
- Export configuration scripts
- Import configuration scripts
- Set a base configuration
- Restore base configurations
- Create or change field tables
- MySQL Read/Write privileges are required to access the Configuration Tools menu
The user must be created in MySQL before you can define the access levels required.
To configure MySQL read/write privileges:
- Select "Configure MySql users for admin console" button in the installer.
- Click on the Browse button and select the path of the Tomcat application and click next.
- Using the "Select Project" drop down menu, choose the server you wish to configure users for, and click next.
- You will have to enter several passwords. The MySQL Username and password are typically the MySQL root user's credentials. It has to be a MySQL user which can edit permissions. Please contact iEnterprises support if you need the File Password and/or the Key Password.
- Click on "Fetch MySQL Users" button to retrieve a list of users.
- Select the MySQL users you wish to grant access by placing a check in the check box and select Read or Read & Write privileges using the drop down selection menu and click next.
- User privileges are updated, you will see an "Updated Successfully" message when completed and will be able to exit the installer.
