Removal of existing server
The installer can remove an existing server. It is preferred to use this method rather than just deleting the files in the webapps directory. This method also cleans up other tomcat files that might have been modified as well as cleaning up MySQL.
There is no recovery option, if you choose to remove a server, please ensure you have sufficient backups to allow for recovery if you need to.
To remove an existing server:
- Select 'Remove existing mobile server' from the installer page. You will be prompted for the Tomcat path:
- Choose browse, and navigate to the home directory for Tomcat. This is the directory which contains the bin, lib, webapps, etc subdirectories. Choose open to confirm the path. If you have run the installer before, it will remember your last choice.
- Below the window displaying the path, there is a 'Tomcat Version' selection box. Ensure the correct version is selected in the dropdown list
- Select Next to continue.
- You will now be asked which server you wish to remove. Please select the server using the dropdown selection box and select Remove Server.
- You will be asked if you wish to keep the MySQL schema associated with the server. If the server is being removed, unless you have a reason to do so, the schema should be removed (as it is no longer needed).
- Leave the default checkmark box blank, unless you specifically wish to keep the server schema, in which case, place a mark in the checkmark box
- Click Yes to continue.
- Any errors which occurred will be displayed in the window which follows.
- If deploying on Windows, Tomcat will be automatically restarted by the installer. Alternatively, you can restart tomcat using 'Services' in windows. Press Exit to close the installer.
- Linux users will get a reminder to restart Tomcat. Pres Exit to close the installer. If you deployed using Linux, you will need to update the ownership and restart tomcat. Please see Linux Preparation for details.
