iEnterprise Mobile Server Installation Guide - version 6.1.4
Introduction
This document is intended to guide you through the installation process of iEnterprise Mobile™. There is an assumption that the person using this process has a good understanding of IT Administration. A network administrator may also be needed to allow access / open ports needed for operation of the server.
If this is the first time you are installing an iEnterprise Mobile™ server, you should read the entire document before starting installation. The only exception is that there are separate sections for installing on Linux or Windows, you only need to read the section relevant to you.
Complete operating system administrator privileges are required for the installation environment. Unless the user has full read / write access and can create / delete directories, installation cannot be completed.
Supported Platforms
- Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2008(R2), 2012, 2012(R2)
- Linux (installation instructions are only included for a GUI environment)
Installation of iEnterprise Mobile is possible on non-GUI versions of Linux, but is not a straightforward process and is therefore not recommended. The installer can generate the scripts needed for installation, but a separate environment with a GUI (Windows or Linux) is needed to create the WAR file. Tomcat would also need to be accessed (using a browser) in order to perform an installation. Installing in a non-GUI environment is outside the scope of this document and therefore not recommended.
We will now discuss pre-installation considerations and the software required before installation can begin, please click Next at the bottom of the page to continue.
