Activation / Deactivation of Users

Users who have the Lotus Notes Connector (LNC) installed in their mail DB can not use it until it is both Activated and Enabled.

    • Activation signals the iEnterprises Activation Server that you are assigning one of your licenses to the chosen user.
    • Enabled allows the user to see the interface, and make use of the features in it.

Activating Users

After you have imported users in to the Admin DB, you will need to Activate them.  To do so:

    1. Select the users you wish to activate and click the button "Activation" and select "Mark for Activation".
    2. You will see a confirmation window appear.  Select "Yes".

The Activation will process at the next scheduled running of the Activation Agent.

If you wish to perform the activation immediately, click on the Activation button and select Process Activations. This will run an agent on the Server to perform the activation.

Newly activated users will be automatically set as Enabled

At this point the user will have only been activated and set as enabled. You will need to run the Update All agent to update the user settings in the user’s mail file. This can be done later when you have configured the desired configuration settings for each user.

If Activation fails, the reason will be added to the connector user’s document in the Admin Database and the user’s Lotus Notes Connector will still be disabled. For example, activation will fail if the user’s email address or mail file is not found in the person document on the server.

Deactivating Users

To remove a user for your pool of LNC Licenses, you will need to deactivate that user in the Admin Console.  If you just remove that user from the list of Users, that will not open up that license seat.  It is important to note, after deactivation, you do not need to also delete the user.  Once deactivated, the user is considered "Inert" and will not count against your list of total users allowed in the license file.

A user that is deactivated will have a red 'X' to the left of their record entry.

Deactivaiton will not remove the LNC from the user's mail file. It will only remove that user from your total license count.  To remove the LNC you must use the Uninstall feature found in the Installation program you used to fist load the LNC components.
