Editing and Updating User Details

To edit an existing user record, perform the following actions from the Users page:

  1. Click on the check box to the left of the user record you wish to update, so that a checkmark is displayed.
  2. Move the cursor over the Users button below the table to display a pop up menu.
  3. Select 'Edit' from the drop-down menu.
  4. Once changes have been made, click Update to save changes. Select Yes to confirm update in the dialog box that appears.
  5. A message similar to the following is displayed at the top of the page to indicate success or failure: Update successful or Update failed.


The following information can be displayed within the Edit User form:

Field

Description

First name

The first name of the user. Some administrators choose to leave this field blank and instead manage users using email address details in the Last name.

Last name

The last name of the user. Some administrators choose to enter user email address information here instead of using the first and last name.

Email

Email address of the user. This field is automatically populated with the email address entered when a user activates iEnterprise Mobile. It can be useful in identifying individual users and the domain used to activate a device. The field can be changed by administrators once activation has taken place if needed.

Pin

Personal Identification Number, unique id used to identify individual hardware devices. The PIN is automatically retrieved from a client device during the activation process. If setting up BlackBerry users manually, this can be entered.
NOTE: This is a read only field and cannot be changed.

BES server url

BlackBerry Enterprise Server address. URL for the server, required only for BlackBerry devices that are using the BES server to push data to devices.
NOTE: This is a read only field and cannot be changed.

Field value

The field value can be used to identify users or groups. The value entered here is used if the Takeinputfromuser parameter is used within a download rule. For more information, see the table describing fields in the[

 

Development Device

This box is checked if the user wishes to receive Live CAD information when a CAD is pushed, as opposed to being pushed a specific CAD version.

Device poll interval

Denotes the amount of time in minutes that the user device is synchronized with the iEnterprise Mobile server, if a data connection is available. Default value is 10 minutes.

Test connection to Data Source

Tests the connection to the Data Source. Uses the Data Source login information entered for that user to verify a connection. Can be useful for troubleshooting connection problems.
