Tracking GPS Coordinates
Tracking GPS Coordinates
You can request the GPS coordinates of a mobile user device, if both the sending of GPS information is activated in the client application and GPS is enabled on the device.
Coordinates are stored in the iEnterprise Mobile™ database, but the viewing of information within the iEnterprise Mobile™ Admin application is only possible if a license for Google Maps has first been purchased.
If you have purchased the Google Maps API key, ensure it is entered in the google.map.api.key system key. For information on updating system keys, see Configuring System Keys
Use the following procedure to request GPS coordinates from the Users page:
- Click on the check box to the left of each user you wish to send the GPS request to.
- Move the cursor over the Push to Device button below the table to display a pop up menu.
- Select GPS from the pop up menu.
- Once the GPS request has been sent, a message will be displayed above the user list: Gps request sent successfully.
