Explanation of Conditional Icons
Conditional icons can be used to help mobile users quickly identify records on a device by displaying a unique icon for different types of record. Some examples of where conditional can be used to aid users are as follows:
- Displaying different icons next to Account records to identify whether records are customers, suppliers, vendors or competitors.
- Displaying different icons next to Contact records to indicate key decision makers.
- Displaying different colors of icons next to Opportunities, based on their value
- Displaying different colors of icons next to leads, based on their rating.
Any field within a module can be used to create a conditional argument to define when an icon should be used, typically keywords are used as they contain fixed values and prevent typos from affecting the functionality of the conditional icon rules. Numerical fields can also be used along with the parameters equals, not equals, greater than or less than.
