Mapping and Configuration Procedure

When setting up new objects within the iEnterprise Mobile™ application, it is recommended that the mapping is completed in the order outlined in this section.

Field Mapping

When setting up new or custom fields, perform the following tasks:

  1. Map and configure the new field, see Mapping New Fields.
  2. Configure the field position in the module, see Field Sort Order.

Keyword Fields

When setting up new or custom keyword fields, perform the following tasks:

  1. Map and configure the fields. When configuring the settings for the field, set the field Type to KEYWORD or MULTI-KEYWORD. For more information, see Mapping Keywords To Modules.
  2. Add and configure the keywords, see Keyword Mapping And Modification.

Object mapping

 

When setting up new or custom objects, mappings are carried out in the following order:

 

  1. Map the new module and configure the module settings, see Mapping a New Module.
  2. Map and configure the fields in the new module, see Mapping New Fields.
  3. Configure the record type labels for the new module, see Menu Settings.
  4. Configure related item object and layout information for the new module, see Related List Overview.
  5. Configure the keywords for the new module, see Field Mapping And Modification.
  6. Configure the download rules for the new module, see Working With Data Download Rules.
