Selecting records

Once a module has been selected by tapping on its icon, a list of records is displayed:

Android Tablet

Android Phone

To scroll in the list of records, press your finger on the screen and drag up/down.

Depending on the speed of your device, it may take time to load the list as you scroll, in such cases a 'Loading' warning is displayed, please wait for the device to respond:

To search for a specific record, tap the 'Search' entry box.

On a device, a limited number of records are loaded to memory to make access faster. Start typing and a type-ahead search begins, but only displays records loaded to memory. The records you are searching for may not appear instantly (as they are not in memory), but tapping 'Search' on the pop up keyboard will search all records stored on the device. Tapping the red X will cancel the search and display all records.

Selecting the eye icon opens another type of search, called a look up (Tablet). Phone users can access by selecting the More button where Look Up is available.  A Look Up is similar to a search, but is performed against your data source (rather than on a local device).  As a search is performed against your data source, an active internet connection is required:

You can enter * as a wildcard character.  For example, entering * in opportunity name above would return all records (the first 20 are listed).

Your data source credentials will be used to attempt to fetch records, so only records available to them in the data source will be returned in search results.

By default, 20 results are displayed when performing a lookup, therefore please choose your search criteria carefully to isolate a specific record.
