Editing records

If editing is enabled, the Edit icon (pencil) will appear in the top right. Tap on edit to edit the current record.  

Phone specific function

On a Phone, the Edit icon is displayed via the More button (three vertical dots).  If editing is enabled, the icon will be displayed after tapping More.

The edit form is the same as the new record form. In the edit screen, required fields are highlighted in red. Grey fields cannot be edited. When clicking on Save, validation may be performed before the record is saved.

Saving records

When you have completed the fields that you wish to edit, select from one of the options at the top of the screen to save.  The options are:

  1. Cancel – cancels the current operation without making changes (a second dialogue box will ask for confirmation).
  2. Save – this will perform validation and save the current record.

Depending on your configuration, there may be additional validation performed before the record is saved.  If your record fails validation a message will be displayed and you will be returned to the record edit screen.

Hidden fields are not displayed in the record edit screen
