Hiding Modules Using Context Rules

Modules can be hidden from the Related Lists menu by setting up a Context Rule to exclude them. For example, you may want to hide the Sales Orders module from appearing if you are viewing a supplier record.

When creating a Context Rule, if the conditions are met, the module will not appear within the Related Lists menu.

To create or change a Context Rule:

  1. Select Context Settings in the Navigation Menu on the left of the page.
  2. Select the Module you wish to hide an item within, using the Navigation Menu below the Context Settings heading.
  3. Next to the item you wish to hide, click on the edit button.
  4. Go to the section which shows Hidden and Readonly Rule.
  5. Complete the following information:
    1. Field Name: Field that the argument will be based upon
    2. Rule Operation: Used to define how the selection is to be made. Values can be Equals, Not Equals, Greater Than and Less Than.
    3. Value: Text or numeric value used to look up. For an explanation of creating conditional arguments, see Setting Up Conditional Icons
  6. Click Add to add the rule. When you hover over the add button, it will ask if you want this to be a Hidden or Readonly Rule. The system statement will be displayed in the box below.
  7. You can add additional arguments by repeating steps 4 and 5. By default, new arguments are added using the AND parameter. You can change the AND to an OR argument in the text box, if needed, by over typing.
  8. Click Submit to save the rule.
