Hiding Modules Using Context Rules
Modules can be hidden from the Related Lists menu by setting up a Context Rule to exclude them. For example, you may want to hide the Sales Orders module from appearing if you are viewing a supplier record.
When creating a Context Rule, if the conditions are met, the module will not appear within the Related Lists menu.
To create or change a Context Rule:
- Select Context Settings in the Navigation Menu on the left of the page.
- Select the Module you wish to hide an item within, using the Navigation Menu below the Context Settings heading.
- Next to the item you wish to hide, click on the edit button.
- Go to the section which shows Hidden and Readonly Rule.
- Complete the following information:
- Field Name: Field that the argument will be based upon
- Rule Operation: Used to define how the selection is to be made. Values can be Equals, Not Equals, Greater Than and Less Than.
- Value: Text or numeric value used to look up. For an explanation of creating conditional arguments, see Setting Up Conditional Icons
- Click Add to add the rule. When you hover over the add button, it will ask if you want this to be a Hidden or Readonly Rule. The system statement will be displayed in the box below.
- You can add additional arguments by repeating steps 4 and 5. By default, new arguments are added using the AND parameter. You can change the AND to an OR argument in the text box, if needed, by over typing.
- Click Submit to save the rule.
