Global Server Settings

You can configure a number of mandatory and optional global server settings using the Admin application. Use the following procedure to access the settings menu:

  1. In the Navigation Menu, click on Administrator.
  2. Select Global Settings in the Navigation Menu.
When making changes to the Global Settings, ensure you click on Update icon below the form to save changes, otherwise changes will be discarded.


The following settings are available using the Global Settings Menu:

Setting

Data source endpoint URL

Full URL for target Data Source.

Domain/Company

Domain specification for user login where configured in your network.
Example: IENTERPRISES/

Login Name

User login Name used to access the Data Source. This user must have Administrator Access to the the Data Source

Password

Password for the login name

Test Connection to Data Source

Uses The Data Source EndPoint URL, Domain, Login Name and Password to confirm access to the Data Source. Success or Failure will appear to the right of the link when clicked.
Note: Ensure you have clicked on Update button below the form to save changes before testing connection.

Server URL

The full URL for the iEnterprise Mobile™ Server, including host name, host port and host context. For example, if the server has been installed using port 8080 and named SwMserver, the URL would be: {+}http://server.company.com:8080/SwMserver+
This field should match the installed iEnterprise Mobile™ server address. It does not alter the installed settings, but it is used in background tasks and should be kept up to date.

Device poll interval

Time is set in minutes, that iEnterprise Mobile™ Server will synchronize with a mobile user device. Default value is set to 10, therefore synchronization will take place every 10 minutes.

Copy contacts to address book

(Users can override default settings in the client)
Sets the default value for copying contacts downloaded from CRM Server to the address book on the user device when a data load is performed. Select one of the following options:

  • CopyAll. Copies all contacts to the address book.
  • CopyOwner. Copies only contacts that the user owns to the address book.
  • Nil. Does not copy contacts to the address book.

Copy leads to address book

(Users can override default settings in the client)
Sets the default value for copying information defined as a Lead to the address book on the user device when a data load is performed. Select one of the following options:

  • CopyAll. Copies all Lead contacts to the address book.
  • CopyOwner. Copies only Lead contacts that the user owns to the address book.
  • Nil. Does not copy Lead contacts to the address book.

Copy to calendar

(Users can override default settings in the client)
Sets the default value for copying items defined as an Appointment to the calendar on the user device when a data load is performed. Select one of the following options:

  • CopyAll. Copies all Appointments to the calendar.
  • CopyOwner. Copies only Appointments that the user owns to the calendar.
  • Nil. Does not copy Appointments to the calendar.

Copy to tasks

(Users can override default settings in the client)
Only used for BlackBerry devices to copy tasks to the user device when a data load is performed.

  • CopyAll. Copies all Tasks to the BlackBerry.
  • CopyOwner. Copies only Tasks that the user owns to the BlackBerry.
  • Nil. Does not copy Tasks to the BlackBerry.

App logo

Used to change the default logo displayed in the top left of the iEnterprise Mobile user application. If not set, default application icon is used.
Supported file types are png, jpg, jpeg and gif.

BES server address

BlackBerry Enterprise Server address. Only required if BlackBerry clients are supported and you would like data pushed to devices, rather than being pulled by the device during synchronization. The BES address is required to push data to BlackBerry devices, such as CAD files.
Test BES checks that server information is entered correctly.
