Data Entry Form
Information entered into Swift MEAP is completed using data entry forms, as the following example shows:
To scroll through a form and find a section you are looking for:
- Place your finger within the form and drag up or down.
- Fields are defined within a form as:
- Mandatory – fields highlighted in red have been defined within the Swift MEAP Admin system as mandatory and must contain data for a record to be added.
- Optional – all other fields within the form do not need to contain data for a record to be added.
There are three main types of field within a form:
- Text / numeric single line entries – these are displayed within a bar and have no additional icons displayed, such as the Name field in the example above. To enter data:
- Tap within the entry bar to display the iPad keyboard.
- Type entry and hit return to move to next text entry. Note: next entry will only be selected if it is a text/numeric entry, within the same group of items.
- Text / numeric multi-line entries – these are displayed within a bar, and have a grey > symbol displayed. An example of a field that may be a multi-line entry is a description field. To enter text:
- Tap within the entry bar to display a pop up entry form and the iPad keyboard.
- Enter your text and click on Done to save the entry.
- List entries – these also have a grey > symbol displayed, such as the Type field in the example above. These entries have been restricted and their value can only be selected from a list. To select a pre-defined entry:
- Tap on a field to bring up a list of allowed entries.
- Tap on an entry from the list to select it. Some lists will allow you to select multiple values.
Note: Click anywhere outside of the list or tap Cancel button to cancel a list entry.
