The Supporting Modules page allows you to configure how/where a supporting module will appear and what actions may be done within that module by users.
In the Swift MEAP™ client application, users navigate to supporting modules through a parent Navigation Tab Module. These are typically child objects (such as Address under an Account). Users would not select a supporting module directly from the client main page, they would navigate through another (Navigation Tab) object. In the example here, to access addresses (which is a supporting module of Account), the user would first select an Account. When viewing the account, any addresses would appear as a "Related List" item. Therefore, the Address object is a "Supporting Module" (it is not directly selected as a starting point in the client).
Objects can be configured as both Supporting and Navigation Tab modules. When they are, they will be displayed both in a "Related List" of a parent and as a quick select object using the Navigation Tabs. One example would be Contacts, which could appear as both a Navigation Tab module and as a Supporting Module (under Accounts).
- The modules defined in the Supporting modules will be added as child modules in your configuration. You can change display order using drag/drop in the list.
- To add a new module, drag it from the 'Available modules' column to the Supporting module column, this will add it as a child module.
- You should add a supporting module to each parent that you want to display it beneath. For example, an activity can be seen underneath an Account, contact or Opportunity, so you would need to drag it to all three parents if it does not already display.
- You can edit the module settings by tapping the Edit icon.
Your options are:
- Allow Create: Determines if a user may create records from the device.
- Allow Delete: Determines if a user may remove records from the module from the device
- Allow Edit: Your setting here will allow users to edit records in the module.
- You can remove the module by tapping the Remove icon.
- Only objects in the 'Supporting Module' column will be mapped.
Once you are done, click the Next button to continue, otherwise you may select Back return to the previous screen.
