iEnterprise Mobile uses an encryption key to secure information. Some highly secure installations may wish to rotate the key used to provide an additional level of security.

Before you can attempt to rotate the encryption keys, you will need a File Password and Key Password, for security reasons, these are not documented or sent with the installer / war file. Please contact iEnterprises to obtain these passwords before attempting to rotate the keys. |
To rotate the encryption key used on a server:
- Select
...
- 'Rotate encryption key

- ' from the installer page. You will be prompted for the Tomcat path:
- Choose browse, and navigate to the home directory for Tomcat. This is the directory which contains the bin, lib, webapps, etc subdirectories. Choose open to confirm the path. If you have run the installer before, it will remember your last choice.
- Select Next to continue.
- You will now be asked which project you wish to rotate the key for. Please select the server using the dropdown selection box and select Next.
- Enter the File Password and Key Password, which can be obtained from iEnterprises. Click Fetch Key.

- The current key will be displayed. Click on Generate Key and Update Data

- to change the key.
- Any errors which occurred will be displayed in the window which follows.
- If deploying on Windows, Tomcat will be automatically restarted by the installer. Alternatively, you can restart tomcat using 'Services' in windows. Press Exit to close the installer.
- Linux users will get a reminder to restart Tomcat. Pres Exit to close the installer. If you deployed using Linux, you will need to update the ownership and restart tomcat. Please see Linux Preparation for details.
