Subscription is created automatically when an Opportunity is won (Sales stage = Closed-Won) AND the Opportunity product line items has subscription products.

Original Opportunity:

1.  Create an Opportunity.

1. On Subscription details, set a Start date and End date. This will automatically set the Term (months).

   The term is computed using 12 months as base month for full term computation.

   On the Product section, click on the first Item dropdown. Select products.
   Products can be a combination

1. of Subscription

1.  and Non-subscription

1.  items.  

1. Discounts

1.  are also treated as a product item, select if needed.
   Discounts are entered on the Products module as either Discount for Subscription or Discount for Non-subscription item.  Select as appropriate.

1. Click Done.

1.  Enter Quantity for subscription and non-subscription items.
   

   Amount

1.  for Subscription items are computed

1. as Quantity x Unit Price x Terms (pro-rated).

   Amount

1.  of Non-subscription items are computed

1. as Quantity x Unit Price x Full term.

1.  Enter "1"

1. as Quantity

1.  for Discount items.  Enter the discount amount

1. on Price Unit as a negative value.

1.  Enter Tax as needed.  Tax will be applied to any taxable items on the list.

1. SubTotal is computed as Subscription item amount + Non-subscription item amount - any discounts.

1.  Total is computed as Subtotal + any Tax applied to taxable items.

1. Opportunity value is refreshed.

1. Save Opportunity.

Subscription:

1. Open an Opportunity record on edit mode.

1. On the Sales stage field, select "Closed-Won"

1. Save opportunity

1. A prompt displays that a "Subscription record will be created for this opportunity."  Click OK.

1. Open the won opportunity.

1. On the Subscription details section, click link to created Subscription record.

1. Associated subscription record opens.

1. Validate details.
   Term, start date and end date displays.
   On Subscription, Product Line items only contains the subscription items, any subscription Discount applied, and tax if applied.
