Application structure
Swift MEAP is designed to increase the productivity of mobile users by providing the tools that they need. These tools are customizable and can include the following:
- Offline mobile support for provision of data source information, for example in the installation covered in this manual: account details, account contact information, prospect size, previous account interactions, leads, opportunities and sales order information. The information that is exchanged between the Swift MEAP application and your data source is fully customizable.
- Keeping track of Swift MEAP's customer related activity; updating data source records with details of telephone calls, letters, emails and meetings.
- Ability to update data source records and create new records from the iPad. If supported by the data source, Swift MEAP also allows users to delete records.
Swift MEAP synchronizes data with your data source through Web services. It is interfaced using the following two elements:
- Admin Application.
- A Web browser-based application that your system administrator uses to configure and manage the client application. For more information about the Admin application, see the Swift MEAP Administration Guide.
- Swift MEAP Client.
- This application is the client installation for the mobile user's iPad device. The Swift MEAP application enables mobile users to access and interact with data source held information, online or offline through the iPad interface. It is specifically designed for iPad touch computing and uses gestures common to other iPad applications. The Swift MEAP application retrieves data from your data source, stores local data, and synchronizes with the Swift MEAP server. The chapters that follow provide more information about using the Swift MEAP application.
