Reference fields used to define simple parent / child relationships between modules. A common example of a parent module would be an Account (or customer), which could contain Contact modules.

This would be set up within Swift MEAP™ by creating a Reference Field within the child module, to define which module is the parent.

To create a reference to a parent module:

  1. Map a new field, as described in /wiki/spaces/SMSAGV9/pages/212896. It is not essential, but references are normally mapped to the Server Field Names ending with REF1, REF2, REF3, REF4 or REF5 to indicate they are a reference.
  2. Click on the Edit Icon to the right of the field to edit its settings.
  3. In the Type field, select REFERENCE.
  4. In the Reference field, select the module you wish to set as a parent object.
  5. Click on Submit to save changes.
  6. Click Yes to confirm in the pop up dialog box.
