Selecting modules

To select a module, tap on the icon in the left had column (iPad) or at the bottom of the screen (iPhone).

On the iPad, if there are more icons available than currently displayed, there are double up / down arrows displayed at the top/bottom of the icon list. You can scroll in the list by dragging the list up/down.

The example on the left shows how these arrows are displayed on the iPad.

On the iPhone, there are no scrollable module icons, but tapping on 'More' at the bottom of the page allows you to display other modules.

Selecting / searching / viewing records

Once a module has been selected, a list of records is displayed in a list:

iPhone Screen

iPad Screen

To scroll either of the lists above, the action is the same.  Place your finger in the list and hold, then drag the list up/down to scroll slowly.  You can also swipe up or down to navigate the list quickly.

To speed up navigation in the client, we load a number of records to temporary memory (rather reading/writing to device storage).  To search for records tap the 'Search/Look Up' text entry box to display the device virtual keyboard and begin typing, the device will filter the records in the list as you type.

Note: As only some records are loaded to temporary memory, the record you are searching for may not be displayed immediately.  Tapping on 'Search' in the keyboard after entering full search details will search for all records stored on the device (not just those loaded to memory).

The list will be filtered to display the search results, if no results were found you will be notified and asked if you want to do a 'Look Up'.  Performing a 'Look Up' is the same as a search, but is performed against your data source rather than just searching the local device.  If records are found on the server that are not on the device, you will be asked if you wish to download them.  An internet connection is required and you can only retrieve records that your user has visibility of in your data source.

Search / sort / look up icons

At the top of the list, there is a small icon with three horizontal lines.  Tapping on the icon will reveal the search / sort / look up icons:

The icons are displayed in order and are as follows:

  • Search: search for records on the device
  • Sort: change the sort order in which records are displayed in the list
  • Look up: search for records against your data source and download
  • Collapse/expand: the three horizontal lines expand/collapse the icon list
